School Cafe

Apply on School Cafe for free and reduced meals - this needs to be done annually to ensure hot, healthy meals.  You can also load your student accounts to ensure your student has access to a healthy meal every day! 

Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program

The Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program (FFVP is a federal initiative that combats childhood obesity by introducing students to new fruits and vegetables. These snacks support healthy eating lifestyles. This program is available at many JSD elementary schools.

National School Lunch Program

Juneau School District participates in the National School Lunch Program. The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) is a federally assisted meal program operating in public and nonprofit private schools and residential child care institutions. It provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free lunches to children each school day. The program was established under the National School Lunch Act, signed by President Harry Truman in 1946.

Meals served in the school setting are among the healthiest food service offerings available in the country. Meals we serve must align with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, requiring the right balance of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and milk.
